The drawing date is May 1, 2009 and the winner need not be present.
Come meet Nanako Takahashi Dunning, the quilt artist
Nanako Takahashi Dunning will be the featured artist at the Spring
Quilt Fest on April 24 - 25th, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. held at Nanako and
Bruce Interiors, 611 Kanuga Street in Hendersonville, North
Carolina (directly behind the Fresh Market, on Kanuga).
Over twenty-five Traditional, Contemporary and Asian styles, from
small wall size to large wall and bed size quilts, handcrafted by
Mrs. Dunning, will be at special prices.
To highlight the event, a beautiful, multi-colored wall quilt, valued
at $650.00, measuring 44 inches square, done in the irregular log
cabin pattern, is the winning prize in a drawing to benefit the local
non-profit, Hendersonville Rescue Mission.
Although Mrs. Dunning is making the trip to the Quilt Fest from her
home town of Gainesville, Virginia, her daughter and son-in-law,
Victoria and Bruce Sprinkle, operate both divisions of their company,
Nanako and Bruce Interiors, in Hendersonville, as well as live there.
In fact, their retail home accessories gallery, Nanako, is named after
Mrs. Dunning, and her quilts have been offered through the gallery
since it opened five years ago. Now that many of her quilts have
been purchased in Hendersonville and several clients have started
collecting her pieces, Mrs. Dunning is honored to be able to give
back to the community that has helped support her love of quilting.
Mr. Doug Perry is the lucky winner of this Wall Quilt! All proceeds benefited the Hendersonville Rescue Mission

Here's a photo of my mom,

of EDC Artistry, located in
Penrose, NC.
Eleanor snapped this in August
2005 during our First Anniversary
Party & Artist Celebration.
I carry her beautiful photography
in my shop and she will also be
joining us to photograph the
Spring Quilt Fest event. Thank
you, Eleanor!
The wall quilt above was made by Nanako using a
silk blue and pink dyed furoshiki for the center
background and a silk golden obi along the outer
areas that belonged to my Japanese grandmother.
